Womadelaide is a World of Music, Arts and Dance Festival held in Adelaide, South Australia.  It showcases musical acts from around the world and draws massive crowds every summer for its international atmosphere, diverse entertainment and quality music.

Tamworth is the home of country music in Australia, and the Tamworth Country Music Festival is the biggest celebration of country music in Australia.  With ten days of events, many of them free, in a festival that doubles the population of the town for its duration, this event is a haven for all country music lovers.

The Big Day Out is an annual music festival that tours around Australia and New Zealand in late January.  The festival has always included big names in its line-up and attracts huge crowds in each city that it visits.

The Falls Festival is an annual music festival held on New Years’ Eve in Lorne, Victoria and Marion, Tasmania.  The festival attracts many types of music, although the focus tends to be on the blues and roots genre.  Many festival-goers camp out in order to enjoy as much of the action as possible.

The West Coast Blues and Roots Festival is held in Fremantle, Western Australia, its east coast sister festival being held in Byron Bay, New South Wales.  The festival has, over the last few years, attracted big acts from around the world as well as local entertainment.

The Southbound Festival takes place in Busselton, Western Australia at the beginning of January.  There are a number of local and international acts to tempt all tastes and the festival also focuses on the arts.  Keen festival goers can camp out and enjoy non-stop fun all weekend.

The Australian Blues Music Festival is held over a weekend in February in Goulburn, New South Wales.  The festival showcases the best of Australian blues as well as attracting international artists, and the program includes workshops with the artists, open mic, markets and the festival’s highlight, the end-of-festival All-Star Pro-Jam.

Splendour in the Grass takes place annually on the outskirts of Byron Bay on New South Wales’ north coast.  It is a music, arts and youth festival that showcases the best music from Australia and overseas, while featuring art, craft and other forms of entertainment.
