Alternative rock band Eskimo Joe formed in 1997 in Fremantle, Western Australia, when Kavyen 'Kav' Temperley (bass/vocals), Joel Quartermain (guitar) and Stuart MacLeod (guitar) formed a band to compete in the Australian National Campus Band Competition. Despite the fact that this was one of their first gigs together, the band won the competition.

The Veronicas

The Veronicas are an award winning Australian pop singer/songwriter duo composed of identical twin sisters Lisa Marie Origliasso and Jessica Louise Origliasso. The pop rock duo’s name came from Archie Comics character Veronica Lodge; when Archie Comics found out, they sued the duo for trademark infringement over their band name, but the two parties settled and have agreed on a cross-promotion deal.

Chris Cheney regards 1950's rock 'n' roll as his greatest influence and first musical love, and the original basis of the band’s sound. Other important influences include Australian 1980’s rock, and rockabilly artists Reverend Horton Heat and Eddie Cochran.

The Whitlams

The Whitlams sound can best be described as 'Piano rock' founded in 'lyrics of charming cynicism'. The band's name is a tribute to former Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, and many of their songs have a political message. Their most recent line up consists of Tim Freedman on piano and main vocals, Jak Housden on guitar, Warwick Hornby on bass guitar and Terepai Richmond on drums, with Tim Freedman being the only surviving member of the original line-up.

Human Nature is an Australian pop vocal group, originally formed as a doo-wop band in 1989 while the current members were at school together in Sydney. The quartet's sixth studio album Dancing In The Street: The Songs Of Motown II was released on October 13, 2006 and debuted at number one, with 14 Motown cover songs, after the initial 'Motown' album sold over 350,000 copies and won the highest selling album ARIA award.
